Mater

Mater is back in the new Disney Pixar Cars 2 movie, directed by Pixar creative genius John Lasseter and scheduled for a release in 2011. Cars 2 sees the familiar cast of vehicles return for the second instalment. Hero of the first film, Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) is back and this time Lightning is taking on some of the quickest cars from around the globe as part of the World Grand Prix series. The sequel also focuses on the adventures of long time friend Mater. Voiced by Larry the Cable Guy, as in the first instalment, Mater plays a pivotal part in the sequel serving not only as part of Lightning’s trusted Rust-Eze pit crew, but also as one of the most unlikely secret agents! Recruited by veteran British spy Finn McMissile (voiced by Michael Caine), Mater embarks on a double mission; to assist his friend Lightning in becoming the fastest car in the world, and complete his top secret spy mission in a frantic journey across the continents, involving death-defying chases to avoiding the wrath of enemy secret agents!
